NIKKI SIXX Looking Forward To 'Cre Fest' Double Duty
April 22, 2008According to The Pulse of Radio, MTLEY CRE bassist Nikki Sixx might end up the hardest working man on the upcoming Cre Fest '08 tour, since he's going to pull double duty every night first playing with his side band, SIXX: A.M., then returning to the stage for the CRE's headlining set. But Sixx told The Pulse of Radio he's looking forward to the challenge. "Yeah, I'm excited about that, actually," he said. "It's something I've never done, opening for myself. I think it's gonna be important, in this situation, where I let the music mostly do the talking in SIXX: A.M. and in MTLEY CRE it's the music and the performance. It's a different presentation musically and visually and I'm looking forward to it. But I think I will be more subtle in my personal presentation."
Cre Fest '08 will begin on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and hit more than 40 cities, closing out on August 31 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Other acts on the bill besides the CRE and SIXX: A.M. include BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH and TRAPT.
MTLEY CRE has also announced a June 17 release date for the band's ninth studio album, "Saints of Los Angeles".
The song "Saints of Los Angeles" is now available for download through iTunes as well as via the Rock Band video game, making MTLEY CRE the first band to issue a single through the popular game.
SIXX: A.M. released its debut album, a "soundtrack" to Sixx's memoir, "The Heroin Diaries", last year.
